Care Instructions

Acrylic Earrings:

  • Avoid Harsh Chemicals: Keep your earrings away from hairsprays, perfumes, and cleaning agents, as these can damage the acrylic.
  • Gentle Cleaning: Use a soft, damp cloth to clean them. Avoid soaking them in water, as this might loosen any glued components or damage wooden backing.
  • Store Carefully: Store them in a soft pouch or jewellery box to prevent scratches.
  • Avoid High Heat: Acrylic can warp or melt at high temperatures, so keep them away from direct sunlight, radiators, or hot surfaces.
  • Handle With Care: Be gentle when putting them on or taking them off to avoid bending or snapping the material.
  • Earring Findings: If your earring findings become tarnished over time, wipe lightly with a soft, dry cloth.

Clay Earrings:

  • Avoid UV Light: Extended exposure to direct sunlight can cause discoloration or yellowing of a resin top coat.
  • Clean Gently: Use a microfiber cloth or a slightly damp cloth to clean. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
  • Protect from Scratches: Store them in a soft pouch or jewelry box, separate from sharp or metallic items.
  • Avoid High Heat: Polymer clay can deform, and Resin can warp under intense heat, so keep them away from sources of high temperature.
  • Handle with Care: Handle Gently: Although Polymer clay can be flexible, it may snap if bent excessively.

If you have any problems with your order, please contact me at lockandcharm@outlook.com and I will do everything I can to help.

About Gold Filled Findings

Gold filled jewellery is also known as rolled gold or gold bonded and is created by mechanically bonding a layer of gold to a layer of base metal - usually brass. The outer gold layer must be at least 1/20 of the overall metal content by weight. Therefore it makes a great alternative to gold plating, which is thinner and less durable.

Much more durable than traditional gold plating, a gold-filled product will oxidize much more slowly.

If you want to slow down the oxidation process even further, you should handle these components with gloves and avoid contact with perfumes, skin oils, and lotions. You should also store them in a dry, cool place.
